MediOrganizer
Client: Medigital GmbH (Part of MEDICE Health Family)
Overview
MediOrganizer is a lifeline for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients who need to manage an overwhelming medication routine, often 10 to 20 pills a day.
Keeping track of what to take, when to take it, and how it interacts with other medications can be stressful and confusing. That’s where the MediOrganizer app steps in.

Research & Discovery
Before I joined the project, the Research & Discovery phase was complete, including workshops, patient journeys, user stories, and concept validation to confirm the app’s need.
These insights provided a strong foundation, allowing me to focus on designing an intuitive and accessible experience for CKD patients.
Competitor Research
We analyzed Apple Health, MyTherapy, TOM, and Mediteo to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities. While Apple Health lacks reminders, MyTherapy excels in adherence tracking, and TOM and Mediteo focus on reminders and pill scanning.
These insights helped shape MediOrganizer to prioritize ease of use, personalized reminders, and hemoglobin tracking for CKD patients.
Ideation & Concept Development
Building on the Research & Discovery insights, I mapped out the core user flow and developed initial concepts. Through team discussions and iterations, the design evolved into a simpler, more intuitive experience, ensuring usability and accessibility for CKD patients.
Designing the "Add Medication" flow was challenging due to the need for custom schedules, varying dosages, and different intake times. An example from patient's perspective:
Monday: Takes 1 pill at 8:00 AM
Tuesday: Takes 2 pills, at 8:00 AM and at 4:00 PM
Thursday: Takes 3 pills, x1 at 9:30 AM and x2 at 6:00 PM
This made the design complex because:
Different schedules per day – Some days require one dose, others multiple.
Varying intake times – Medication times aren’t always consistent.
Changing dosages – The number of pills per intake can differ.
After multiple iterations, we streamlined the process to ensure a smooth additing of medications covering essential customizations. Since deep customization—such as highly irregular schedules—was needed by only a small subset of users, we decided to exclude it from this release, focusing on a cleaner, more intuitive experience for most users.
Final Designs
Here are the final UI designs for MediOrganizer – a user-centric app designed to simplify medication tracking for CKD patients. These designs prioritize clarity, accessibility, and a smooth user experience, making complex health management effortless.
